YNG Conduct and Expulsion Policy
We are tremendously excited that you have chosen to attend this YNG+ program. To protect your safety and to ensure a positive experience for each event attendee, we ask that you review the following Conduct and Expulsion Policy and sign indicating that you agree to the terms set forth below.
CONDUCT AND EXPULSION POLICY
This policy is designed to help fulfill our intent to deliver a successful experience for each program participant. YPO expects that all program participants will participate voluntarily and put forth their best effort in trying new activities, working together as a team, and following instructions delivered by YPO staff, especially where safety is concerned. We expect all participants to maintain high standards of personal behavior, maintaining a positive attitude while abstaining from any behavior considered inappropriate by YPO staff.
- YPO adheres to state and local laws governing use, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages. YPO is subject to these laws and administers all polices in accordance with their current and proper interpretation. The consumption of alcohol raises many complex issues, including behavioral, safety, and legal problems.
- YPO is subject to state and local laws governing the distribution, possession, and use of drugs and drug paraphernalia. YPO will not tolerate any participant involvement with illegal drugs and/or possession of drug paraphernalia, including the illegal possession, use, or abuse of prescription and/or non-prescription medication.
- YPO is subject to state and local laws governing tobacco use and ask that each participant refrain from using tobacco products during this program. Many of program activities will be held outdoors and/or in close-quarters and tobacco is harmful to other participants’ and staff health.
- YPO asks that each participant refrain from disruptive behavior that is defiant, harassing, or otherwise compromising to the emotional safety and experience of others. Participants are encouraged to take leadership roles and work together in many contexts of the program and those who have problems with authority, following instructions, or working with individuals from around the globe need not attend this program.
AGREEMENT
I understand and agree to the following:
The investment being made to attend this YNG program is significant. This investment has been made not only by my registration, but also by my peers, the faculty and staff.
I understand that YPO communicates program updates prior to and during the program via email and I agree to check and respond in a timely manner.
I agree to commit to fully participate responsibly in this event including drinking responsibly and not to excess, refraining from any illegal use of drugs, treating the facilities with the proper respect and being fully present physically and mentally for the entire event.
I understand that any material breach of any of these conditions could lead to my expulsion without refund from this program.
Any participant who violates one or more of these few rules will be held accountable for his/her behavior and will be subject to dismissal at the sole discretion of YPO. YNG members and/or their parents are responsible for making arrangements for, bearing the cost of, and providing supervision for dismissed participants’ immediate travel home, even in situations that require extended international travel. No refund of the program fee will be given and the participant will be placed on probation and will not be eligible to register for another YPO YNG event.
Please note that while this is a comprehensive agreement, participants may be advised of additional rules and regulations at the start of his/her specific program.
I agree and fully understand the above terms and guidelines and recognize that they have been laid out for my welfare and the welfare other program participants. I agree to accept the consequences if I do violate any of these rules.
